Nation's Capital Gets Educated
Importance of Preserving Families Must Not Involve Alienation

/Florida News Articles/ - WASHINGTON, DC, August 24, 2008 - At the Hyatt on Capitol Hill, raising awareness about a behavioral form of child abuse required dedication from many individuals. The 2nd Annual Family Civil Rights event was dedicated to educating those involved with high-conflict divorce, and the detrimental effects on children. The Event, held August 15th & 16th, was attended by individuals from all over the country bringing hope and renewed energy to children and families.

Parental Alienation Awareness Organization U.S. (PAAO-US) commemorated historical milestones, featuring such individuals as Mr. Ted Spear, highlighting the informative video, A View for the Bench, Ms. Shelli Ryan, producer of the suspense thriller, Jake's Closet; Mr. Bryan McGlothin, author of a true story, Have You Seen My Mother; Mr. Jeff Opperman, presenting the Four Myths of Parental Alienation; and Ms. Robin Denison, educating on the behaviors involved in Parental Alienation. Mr. & Ms. Incredible were also on-site.

State Directors, who previously obtained signed Governor proclamations, were gathered in Washington, D.C.

Just across the street, in Upper Senate Park, were speakers, hosted by Mrs. Sheryl Hutter of R.A.D.A.R., who shared poignant life stories of the effects of Parental Alienation. It was through those words attesting to the pain that hearts ached, tears flowed, and comforting hugs embraced those being denied the right to bond with a family member who loves and misses them. This moving tribute was followed up with a memorable candle vigil led by Celeste Chappell-Bates of N.A.N.C.M.

"The importance of the Family Preservation Festival is to unite people from the United States on the importance of our families' civil rights as a positive step toward change and reunification," said Theresa Martin, director of Parental Alienation Awareness Organization-US (PAAO-US) http://paao-us.com. She states, "This was all accomplished in less than sixty days by the numerous people focused on family issues."
